Admissions: what happens between enquiry and enrolment

Hancdiv's admissions process is designed to ensure every enrolled student has the background to succeed — and to redirect applicants who would be better served by a different program.

The admissions process, step by step

Applying to Hancdiv involves four stages. First, you submit an online expression of interest that takes approximately 15 minutes and covers your current role, educational background, and the program you are interested in. Within three business days, an admissions advisor will contact you for a 20-minute conversation to assess fit and answer questions. If the program is a strong match, you will be invited to submit a formal application including a one-page professional statement and supporting documents. Accepted applicants receive a formal offer letter and have 10 business days to confirm their place and pay the confirmation deposit. Places are offered in strict order of completed applications, not enquiry date.

Entry requirements by program stream

Professional Practice

Minimum one year of tertiary study or 12 months of full-time professional experience. Functional written English is required. No specific subject background is necessary.

Technology & Data

No prior technical background required. Applicants should be comfortable working with spreadsheets at a basic level and have a stated professional reason for needing data skills — this is a practical, not purely academic, program.

Leadership & Strategy

Minimum three years of management experience at team-lead level or above. Applicants without documented management responsibility will not be admitted to this stream regardless of academic background.

Communication & Media

Demonstrated writing or content creation background — this may be professional, voluntary, or freelance. Applicants submit two writing samples as part of the formal application; samples are reviewed by a faculty member.

Fees, deferrals, and what Hancdiv does not guarantee

Program fees are published on the individual program pages and are fixed at enrolment. Hancdiv does not offer income share arrangements or deferred payment outside of standard FEE-HELP eligibility where applicable. Students who need to defer their start date may do so once, to the next available intake, provided they notify the admissions team at least 14 days before the cohort begins. Refund terms are governed by Hancdiv's published refund policy, available on request. Hancdiv does not guarantee employment outcomes: graduate employment rates are published as historical data, not as a contractual commitment. Individual results depend on portfolio quality, labour market conditions, and the effort each graduate applies to their job search.

Admissions questions answered

How competitive is the admissions process?

Programs with high demand — particularly Technology & Data and Leadership & Strategy — do reach capacity before the formal enrolment close date. Professional Practice and Communication & Media typically have more available places per intake. Submitting an expression of interest early is the most effective way to secure a preferred intake.

Can international students enrol?

Students based outside Australia may enrol in fully online programs through the standard admissions process. Hancdiv does not hold a CRICOS registration and cannot issue student visas. International applicants requiring a student visa must apply through a registered CRICOS provider.

Is FEE-HELP available for Hancdiv programs?

FEE-HELP eligibility depends on the specific qualification level and the student's citizenship status. Eligible students can apply through the standard Australian Government FEE-HELP process. The admissions team can confirm eligibility for the specific program you are applying for during your initial advisor conversation.
