Professional Practice: the skills employers expect on day one
A 10-week blended program covering workplace communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement for graduates entering client-facing roles.
What the Professional Practice program delivers
The Professional Practice stream closes the gap between academic knowledge and workplace readiness. Over ten weeks, participants develop structured written and verbal communication skills, learn to manage small projects using standard frameworks, and practise stakeholder mapping and engagement. The program uses live briefs sourced from Hancdiv's industry partners: every major assessment is based on a real scenario provided by an employer, reviewed by that employer, and discussed in a debrief session at the end of the module. Students finish with a portfolio that includes a professionally formatted project brief, a stakeholder communication plan, and a recorded presentation reviewed by a panel of practitioners.

A structured communication plan produced against a real employer brief, demonstrating the ability to identify stakeholders, map influence, and sequence messaging for a defined project.
Recorded practitioner review
A video recording of your final presentation with written feedback from two practising professionals — concrete evidence of communication competency for job applications.
Who this program suits — and who it does not
Professional Practice is designed for people who have completed at least one year of tertiary study or have 12 months of full-time work experience. It is not a remedial writing course and is not appropriate for students who need to develop foundational academic literacy first. Participants are expected to arrive with functional written English and a basic understanding of how professional organisations operate. The program is most effective for career-changers, recent graduates who feel underprepared for the workplace, and professionals returning to the workforce after a career break.
